Who is MaiaZura?

For teams operating in complex, safety-critical settings, MaiaZura builds immersive training experiences that help learners develop the skills needed to perform reliably under pressure. MaiaZura was founded in response to a UNC-led study examining burnout, workflow strain, and safety breakdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. That research, published in Workplace Health & Safety, identified urgent training needs around communication, coordination, and system-level awareness.

What kind of training does MaiaZura provide?

Our flagship product, Bizon360-T, is an immersive LMS module that places learners inside a surgical environment, following the journey of a patient through a high-risk procedure. Along the way, learners build foundational skills in situational awareness, interdisciplinary communication, and adaptive coordination. As the scenario unfolds, they observe how teams manage breakdowns and transitions — encouraging critical reflection and practical insight.

MaiaZura’s work is grounded in evidence-based frameworks including TeamSTEPPS, the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS), and High-Reliability Organization (HRO) principles. While Bizon360-T brings these frameworks to life in a surgical setting, future MaiaZura modules will apply these same principles across a variety of environments — adapting content to meet the needs of teams working in different high-stakes domains.

How do we deliver this training to our learners?

MaiaZura is a professional content provider that delivers ready-to-launch, LMS-integrated training — not a standalone learning platform. Modules are LMS-ready and optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile to support flexible, just-in-time training.

Our content integrates with your LMS using LTI 1.3, the industry standard for secure content delivery. We also support custom API-based deployments for organizations using proprietary or non-LMS systems. If your LMS supports single sign-on (SSO), learners can access the module using their existing credentials — no additional login required.

While the core training experience remains consistent to ensure instructional integrity, we offer co-branding options to align the module with your organization’s identity and learning goals.
