Stressors contributing to burnout among acute care and trauma surgery care teams: a systems-analysis approach
This research employed a contextual design approach to examine burnout through the use of surveys, focus groups, CIs, modeling, and validation. Prioritization is a viable method for pinpointing significant stressors and enhancements that could facilitate more effective and suitably targeted interventions. The findings reveal elevated levels of burnout among members of acute care and trauma surgery teams, necessitating prioritized focus on operational and relational challenges essential for patient care. Initiatives aimed at enhancing the workflows of surgical teams, providing auxiliary support, improving compensation, and fostering relationships with leadership may help mitigate burnout.
