UNC Health

MaiaZura, LLC has entered into an exclusive license agreement with The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) and UNC Health to commercialize innovative virtual reality (VR) training technologies developed at UNC. The agreement became effective on October 25, 2024. Under this agreement, MaiaZura. LLC holds exclusive worldwide rights to use, develop, and commercialize specific copyrighted VR training materials created by UNC and UNC Health researchers. As part of the consideration, MaiaZura, LLC issued equity representing 5% ownership to the UNC‑CH Foundation and agreed to ongoing financial participation through royalties equal to 15% of net sales of licensed products.

Uptale

MaiaZura, LLC partnered with Uptale to deliver our content via an immersive learning platform that helps organizations and educators create, deploy, and analyze interactive XR and virtual reality training experiences. Using simple 360° photos or videos and a no‑code editor, Uptale allows users to build realistic simulations and learning modules in minutes. Trainings can be accessed online or offline across VR headsets, desktops, tablets, smartphones, and LMS platforms. Uptale enables scalable, engaging, and cost‑effective training that improves retention, safety, and performance through experiential learning.
